Call History
Engine1 and Squad Assist with Natural Gas Explosion and Fire

The alarm was struck around 08:18 to assist St 90 Forbes Road Fire Department for a reported fire at My Sisters Bistro at the intersection of Sauls Rd and Route 819.

E22-1 went in route with Squad 22 following a little behind.

While in route it was reported by Command 90 of a natural gas explosion with a residence being leveled and other homes and vehicles being damaged along with injuries.

A large amount of acreage was also damaged.

E22-1 would arrive on scene and stage with other departments while the gas company would work on shutting off the gas and extinguishing the fire with assistance by the fire dept.

Crews would assist state police with closing down Route 819 while other crews assisted with putting out the remainder of fire still burning caused by the explosion.

Engine 22-1 would also assist the gas company with other crews blowing off the remainder of gas in the damaged line.

Once the incident was safe Command 90 released all units.

A few units remained on scene.

An Engine from Monroeville 4 Allegheny County was on stand by for Station 22.
