Units Respond to Smoke in Structure
Fri. Feb 3rd 2017

The alarm went off around 06:29 for a report of smoke filling up in an apartment above the garage of an Auto Body Shop in the Borough.

Deputy 30 (Delmont) was on scene and advised there was a light smoke condition in the apartment above the garage. E22-1 arrived on scene with Chief 22 assuming command.

A crew from E22-1 was sent to investigate. The residents from apartment evacuated the structure and  advised the landlord was in route.

The landlord was on scene quickly and opened the garage where crews continued to investigate.

After further investigation, crews found the smoke was coming from a faulty furnace.

All units not on scene were cancelled and dispatch was advised of the problem. Ventilation was started and command returned all units except 22 and 64.

Once ventilation was complete, command returned all units.
